wiiw IMPORT DEMAND ELASTICITIES
-------------------------------

Basic instructions:
-------------------

The wiiw Import Demand Elasticities Database provides unilateral import demand elasticities estimated for 167 countries and more than 5,000 products at the 6-digit level of the Harmonised System over the period 1996-2014.

The ZIP-file includes the main data file
** in Stata format (Elasticities_Data.dta);
** in CSV-format comma-delimited (Elasticities_Data_comma.csv); and
** in CSV-format tab-delimited (Elasticities_Data_tab.csv).

In addition we provide figures and Table 1 of the corresponding paper.

** Structure of the main data file **

iso3 .............. ISO3 country code (e.g. ALB for Albania)
iso2 .............. ISO2 country code (e.g. AL for Albania)
country ........... Country name (e.g. Albania)
sector ............ Manufacturing or AgriFood
hs2 ............... HS 2-digit code of the Harmonised System (e.g. HS Code 01 = Live animals)
product ........... HS 6-digit code of the Harmonised System (e.g. HS Code 010111 = Pure-bred breeding horses)
elasticity ........ Elasticity estimate
elasticity_sign ... Binding elasticity estimate if significantly different from 0 at the 10% level
se ................ Standard error
p ................. p-value
